My name is Olivia Mockett, I am a Worcestershire based Upholsterer who specialises in bespoke traditional and contemporary upholstery. Working from my Old Pigsty Workshop in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, I have a passion for furniture restoration and heritage and I genuinely delight in ensuring the integrity of every piece is preserved through high quality craftsmanship and traditional skills.
I trained at Tresithick Upholstery and Restorations in Cornwall attaining both Levels 2 and 3 advanced qualifications through the AMUSF (Association of Master upholsterers and Soft Furnishers) in 2013.
For antique items I use traditional materials and techniques, safeguarding the quality and longevity of the furniture and I believe this also provides a superior looking and more comfortable chair or sofa. More modern items require a different approach; whether it be a favourite parker knoll wing back or a Laura Ashley sofa I provide re-upholstery or recovering using modern methods and materials to give your chair or stool a fresh start.
My favourite part of the upholstery process is choosing the right fabric to set off the furniture. I will help you choose the right type of upholstery fabric for your piece bringing together your style, décor and usage. I have a growing selection of fabric sample books, from wools and tweeds from Art of the Loom, plush velvets and patterns from Jim Dickens or more modern prints and weaves from Kobe, Warwick Fabrics, Titley & Marr and Elenbach.
